How Much Do You Charge For House Selection

FP charges SGD... for 3 house assessment for selection. That is without the detailed study and advice. How much do you charge? Excluding flight/hotel stay in Singapore?

I take your point about having an on-site audit. Like you said, its a privilege that requires investment.

2nd part, I think FP's audit process is just like yours. There is more serious audit / work after selection (more charges too.. but I have yet to find out) SGD... charged by her is for 3 choices like your Preliminary Audit and Recommendation Phase I think.

Sorry please bear with my clarifications. After this I think I will understand your audit process a lot clearer!

Answer:

SGD... for 3 houses selection assessment is a reasonable price.

The right selection is always the best line of defense. I am a little curious as to what she meant by without detailed study and advice? Usually the master will tell you, such as if you chose A, this will happen to you..., B, this will happen to you..., C, and so forth. In conclusion, out of the 3 choices, perhaps B may suit you better... and to rectify some of the setbacks, this is what required of you to do.... and so forth.

Remember, a good master will always provide you with choices and recommendations. Through our experiences, Heaven is very fair, at most of the time, the conditions are quite neutral. Meaning the positive Qi is quite balance out the negative Sha. There is always room to fine tune the loose ends, such as example, locking of the water mouth and so forth.

Excluding flight & stay our charges are SGD... per house, for selection only. So, if it is 3 houses, it will be SGD... , more expensive then... Again, if you notice, there is always a choice, for example, if you need more options, you pay more. More options means more opportunity for you to select and more work for the master to do. By such it is always fair to both parties. This fee will include the followings: -

   1. One time BaZi reading for yourself and your spouse.
   2. A detail recommendation (in writing) of the necessary remedy where required for the selected house.
   3. Date selection for moving in.

What is not included: -

   1. Ritualistic requirement for moving in for the Deities (if any). If require, we would recommend our fellow associates.

On the 2nd part, the same does apply. For instance, once you have decided with an options based on our recommendation, we will delineate to you as to our choice options and what are the matters that need to be improved. In the worst case, you may need to select another location. This, we have not encountered before. In the most preferred case, everything  falls at its correct place. That also we have not encountered before. The closest was a site selection for a bungalow, where the formations are just perfect. Then, so perfect that the owner decided to migrate to the US the next day, because he just got a US contract that worth millions in USD.

Most of the cases we encountered needs a certain degree of ratifications. For your information, Yifengshui may NOT be a good platform for free FengShui lesson. How Do You Charge For An Audit?

I was referred by my friend about your FengShui services and would like to enquire as to your audit Fees that is way below the market price liked … Does it means to say you guys are under cutting the rest. Would your charges reflect that you guys are equal to those Junior Consultants from …? Would the level of your services be of compromised?

Answer:

First and foremost there is no standard Fee. Second, even if we agree to perform a preliminary audits, that doesn’t mean we ought to provide you a full service. We believed that some prefers to levy a hefty sum of Fee, so that the consumer will feel the pinch and would not go to another master, because of the Fee paid. We however, do not succumb to such a practice. We do not take FengShui as a Business Model, but a model of Humanity.

We only take in cases when: -

1) There is a Affinity between us and the consumer
2) Such work does not hamper our conscience
3) Such work does not results in us breaking other peoples’ FengShui

So, if you think you want to engage us, to test us out in a FengShui war, then kindly look for others. We are not interested.

We usually phase our work through different phases: -

1) Preliminary Audit – We charge by a token sum. Click HERE for enquiry. The reason being your case is also our storehouse of knowledge. We treat each and every case unique. For all purposes the issue raised must fall within our method of diagnosis, until such that it breaks the first hypothesis, and then it is our role, to re investigate such flaws in the first hypothesis. This is part Science of FengShui. We document every case. So, it is not only us doing you a favor, it is you also doing us a favor. That is Affinity. The token sum is only measurable for our means of compensating our out of pocket expenditure such as transportation within the Klang Valley. There is no valid reason why must we charge a hefty sum for such a preliminary audit, unless otherwise for a matter of greed and commercialization?

2) Recommendation Phase – If we see the situation as being on a charity basis, we would even return the token Fee and do it free of charge. This phase usually consists of us making a recommendation to the consumer. It is also a critical phase for us to decide of taking up the job or just denying taking up the job. Affinity again is at play. Here, we charge accordingly to the complexity of the case, Heaven’s will, consumer’s attitude and the affordability of the consumer themselves. We however do not take lump sum. This Fee will be broken down to another 3 installments, with the other 2 being paid at the following phases.

3) Setting Up Phase – We would set up accordingly and follow by a series of consultation with the consumers and their renovators. This also includes a series of email correspondence with even their appointed Architect or ID Consultants. Finally, we will choose a date to commence work. Upon commencement of setting out, the second installment would be paid out.

4) Completion Phase – Upon completion of physical work by the renovators or builders, we will be in presence to verify the setting. If everything goes well, we would follow up with the proposal of a moving in date. Here the final installment is to be paid up.








5) Review Phase – 1-3 reviews depending on case by case basis will be conducted Free of charge.












We practice such, so that at any phases of work, the consumer has the right to engage others if they are not satisfy with our performance. This, rarely happen. Such options may not be the best business model, but we are satisfied as long as we don’t owe anyone and our consciences are cleared. Similarly so, if it happens that we found out the consumers are being not so genuine in their dealings. We may also walk away in that situation. So, the arrangements are mutually beneficial and in no way, we see ourselves as being undercutting.

Again, we do not operate with a Business model that there are Hierarchy of Junior, Intermediate or Senior. Even our representatives are well trained for a specific performance, without the presence of the master. The risk of the lack of comfort would be eliminated by our group practices strategies. Very often than not, we would deliberate options rather than only solution so that quality of works would remain consistent through out.

Paradoxes Of Flying The Stars

I am an avid follower of your Blog. Being a FengShui enthusiast, I had taken up numerous courses in FengShui from various schools. Most of the schools emphasized on the Flying Star methodology as a predictive tool and 8 Mansions as the prescriptions. Honestly, I begin to doubt as both seem as contradictory in applications as one says favorable and the other says not favourable. How am I going to consolidate these differences and make good use out of it? I know, I should have asked in the forum, but it seems to be quiet lately. Then there is this thing between the grid and the pie approach. Which is which? At times, I found it difficult to divide the rooms into some reasonable sectors. Please help.

Answer:

I hesitate to jump into conclusion to say that Flying Stars and 8 Mansions are FLAWED methodology. I may just say, these are all stand alone methodology with very limited applications. In other words, they are just another end user methodology for interior applications. Someone else called it, entry level FengShui, but I stand to differ. The application as prescribed in most of the book available in the stores may seem simple, but the principles behind are complex and complicated. Without appreciating the principle behind this methodology, applications become a constraint as to what is what. So, it is also right to say that in this context, we only see the application and forgotten there is still the body as principles.

First, these 2 methods may be classified as SanYuan, in actual fact; they may not be of the same category. In SanYuan, elements follow the HeTu sequence. However in Flying Star available in the market, the elements are following the LoShu sequence. Worst, 8 mansions methodology followings the SanHe elements. So, how can these methods come from the same parent SanYuan?

So, you will NEVER get a satisfactory conclusion by applying these methods simultaneously. Therefore, it becomes a FLAW system. Yet, it is again taught all over the school.

Saying that these systems are entirely flawed is again, unjustifiable, because there are successful cases based solely on the application of this methodology. The key is in its applications.

As an end user methodology, it is not a full fledge FengShui method but a piecemeal of methods conjoining to make it as a method on its own rights. So there is a lot of patchwork here and there. These successful cases are largely stemmed out of one very singe fundamental approach. That is arraying Yin and Yang, before even the stars are being assigned in. When the YinYang has been established, Qi movement becomes smoother and ultimately things will change for the better.

So, in a nutshell, I don’t even bother to say is the grid or the wedge approach is applicable. Once you understand, what is meant by arraying Yin and Yang, all other things will fall in place. That include among others, taking facing and sitting which are deemed so important to fly or flip the stars.

What Is Interior FengShui?

Question:

I have just been to a show house purportedly design with FengShui in mind. The sales person were happy to disclose that the layout has been arrange in accordance to the FengShui principles such as, the wall is placed facing the Dining so that a full height mirror can be located to double up what so ever that is placed on top of the Dining table. The island counter is placed so that the sink would not counter the stove. All walls are aligned so that no door will face the edge of the wall, where it is consider as poison-arrows, and so forth. Are all these valid principles.

Answer:

That depends on how you evaluate so called principles.

The first choice of defense is always selection. Selections means to select an appropriate unit based on your luck capacity, the door in relations to the rest of the ingress and egress of Qi movements. Then only, we speak about the interior “land forms” of the house.

It is not about the mirror doubling the food on the table. If you insist for the food to be doubled up, then cook more. Neither is it regarding the stove and the basin clashing into each other. The notion of water clashing into fire is no longer the same during the Dynasty period and our modern period. We don’t use fire wood anymore, so there is no risk for anyone falling into the well when the smoke filled the kitchen.

Alignment of the wall is important for these are hidden “dangers” waiting for the time to explode. Another point to note is missing corners.

What is missing corners? It simply means the absent or the extra projections of any corner of your house with reference to the center of your house. It denotes the lack of affinity with relation to that particular representation of the corners in relation to wealth, human relationship and others. It is an entire stand alone topic in itself. Anyway to cure it? The answer is yes but not by means of placing a PiYao, mystical animals or knots, plants, mirrors, symbols and others.

In doubt, look for a square room. That will be safe.

Has FengShui Got To Do With Spiritualism or Religion?

My brother brought in a FengShui master, draped in a similar “Chinese Opera” costumes with YinYang symbols. He even has his eye-brow painted exactly like those from the opera. He uses a LuoPan but he seems not to use is to measure. He feels his way through the house liked he knows everything and the moment he spotted our Beemer, he said this to my brother that the house does not bring luck to the male occupants but to the female siblings. He continued to say that many things have to be modified including the ancestral tablet. Has FengShui got to do with Daoism Practice or Religion?

Answer:

The “master” that your brother has engaged are most likely from the Temple. They are mediums who can communicate with the paranormals, which we sometimes referred to as gods (small G). These are intuitive FengShui that based solely on paranormal means beyond our day to day logics. We do not doubt their efficacy and results. Neither do we question their abilities. However, we only keep in view of their ability for other means beyond the call of the five elements, for example, ghost busting, initiation of the altar and the statutes of the deities, prescribing talismanic cure for paranormal events in poltergeist and others. We called this services pertaining to the Dao of the Deities. We also use these services for house cleaning and so on, which we shall not discuss in detail, in this blog.

However, true FengShui practitioners, does not need to be: 

1) Transform into an opera “singer”

2) Uses the LuoPan as an ornament, not a tool.

As we do not investigate your brother’s house FengShui, we reserved to comment on this aspect. But rest assured that FengShui and BaZi, do not involve religion or the practice of Daoism, spiritualism or medium. It is purely an art of the 5 elements so as similar to what being practiced in the Chinese traditional medicine or Chinese painting and calligraphy. However, in our case, the living environment becomes our canvas.

Between The Pagoda And The Flyingstar

Question:

I had spent a fortune in the FengShui items liked mandarin ducks and PiYao from a shopping Mall in the Klang Valley, after reading the books on the advocacy in placement FengShui. I even bought a jade pagoda the size of torchlight for my son to go to school, hoping that his grade will be improved. However, it ended up nowhere.

So, I was again, reintroduced to a great speaker who speaks during the CNY about astrology and face reading and even spend few thousands in his life courses with empty pages course book, with plenty of other books about FengShui which I had yet to master. But every time, my husband asked, what I had learned, I could only say, FlyingStar and BaZi.

The irony is each time I try to read my Husband chart; I could not able to read it correctly. Similarly so, each time I try to activate the literary star for my son, nothing seems to work? Is there something wrong with me or the pagoda or the FlyingStar?

Answer:

Well, these sorts of complaints are not unusual. It is all in the learning curve. You were introduced to FengShui by someone who is all out to market their products, be it a FengShui object or courses and books. These are products that will NOT make you a master overnight. So, you will continue not able to apply what you had learnt and continue to subscribe for a higher level of courses install to milk you further. Similarly so with the art of placement FengShui where you will continue to buy their merchandise as each of these products has its expiry date and if it is not changed will bring in sheer bad luck for you. Ultimately, you live your life believing that FengShui is all about merchandising and a sole Master who can promise you the world, but not giving you the world.

There is nothing wrong with the pagoda, Flying Star or for the matter, BaZi. The only issue is you are not given the “Key” to apply it effectively. No way, these marketers are going to give it to you as they see you as a milking cow, for their very own prosperity. That is the reason why you do not see the result of your very own application. Next, you will blame it on to yourself as sheer stupidity, as the Master is always right, because they are PERFECT, you are NOT.

Take it as it is at the moment until such time, you have the affinity to meet a genuine master. Stop all that unnecessary investment, which ended up nowhere and it is all with Affinity.

I knew of someone, who has invested her retrenchment benefits, ended up nowhere after going for these courses. What a pity.
